This situation offers us a rare chance to test the differences between AMD and Intel-based chips in the same laptop to see which performs better. The additional processor cores that Ryzen offers compared to Intel’s Kaby and Coffee Lake CPUs mean that certain tasks run faster. When it comes to games, it doesn’t matter what CPU you use – Ryzen 7 5800X or Core i7-11700K – the performance will remain the same.
Today we look at the big differences between Ryzen 7 3700X and Intel i7-9700K CPUs and compare them to different factors such as game performance, thermal performance, overclocking ability, and many more. AMD’s Ryzen 7 2700X is faster at standard speeds, but at overclocking, the massive frequency advantage of Intel CPUs is enough to overtake AMD’s CPU, providing a performance increase of up to 10%. In several cases, Intel Core i7 9700K has overtaken AMD Ryzen 7 by Intel – which is why we call the Core i9-9900K the fastest gaming CPU we ever tested.

AMD’s Ryzen 7 4800Hs – eight-core performance and multithreading – capability give it a ton of performance, but it can’t compete with the single-core performance of Intel’s CPU. Intel Core I 7 outperforms AMD CPUs at maximum boost speeds, which is important to understand if overclocking makes a difference.
